Lovely Lovech - The town with a heart. The first view you get of the town of Lovech can be breathtaking because it is one of the prettiest towns in Bulgaria. From the natural stone wall of the ancient fort surrounding the top of the mountain and overlooking the town, to the houses nestled underneath the fort, to the river running through the town with the ancient, completely closed in, wooden bridge spanning the river, it is definitely impressive. It also comes as quite a surprise, as you walk through the pedestrianised wooden bridge to find shops inside, on both sides of the walkway. Then, when you come out of the bridge on the opposite side of the river you find another nice surprise, as you arrive in a small modernised square which has obviously been designed with socialising in mind, creating a heart for Lovech, with pretty cafes, bars and restaurants around the outside of the square and a water feature in the centre, which is very reminiscent of France. The property for sale is a detached, attractive 3 bedroomed, 2 storeyed house built of stone, with a balcony. Outside, there is a large ornate stone barn. To the front of the property, there is an existing driveway with double metal gates in a large garden with fruit trees and grape vines. To the rear, there is a smaller enclosed garden. There is electricity and mains water at the property, plus, the benefit of two wells. This is a freehold property, with a 1,000 sq. metres of ground. The house is located in one of the nearest villages to Lovech. It is obvious to the onlooker, that before the ravages of communism, this village could have been described as a classy village. All the houses were built in a similar style and of natural stone, with wide tarmac roads throughout the village. Improvements are already underway to re-establish this village, with street lighting and new electrical rewiring recently being installed. British people have already bought here and live in the village. |
